. By Car - Head towards Leith Walk / A900 from the city centre and then turn left at McDonald Road. We're approximately 100m from Leith Walk, on the right-hand side of McDonald Road.
. By Bus - Buses arrive at either Edinburgh Bus Station in St. Andrew Square or Waverley Bridge. Taxis are available at both locations. McDonald Road is only 5 minutes drive away ( less than 2km ) from these locations.
. By Train - Trains arrive at Waverley Station. There's a taxi queue inside the station itself. Or, you can make your way to Waverley Bridge, one of the station's exits. Either way, a taxi ride will take you only 5 minutes to reach McDonald Road.
. By Plane - The airport is about 25 minutes away from the city centre. At the airport you can take the Airport Express Bus ( Service No. 100 ) and arrive at Waverley Bridge. Then from there you can take a taxi to McDonald Road. A taxi ride all the way from the airport can cost you roughly £20.
The Ecosse International Guest House is located in a quiet area of Edinburgh and is very close to most of the city's main attractions and a large number of restaurants and cafes. Parking is on street and by Pay and Display Monday to Friday. Parking is free at weekends and after 5.30pm until 8.30am next morning. There is also free street parking in nearby Albert Street, one street away from the guest house.
The city's historic sites and shopping district are just a leisurely walk away. Calton Hill offers a stunning view of the city landscape. Ten minutes away are the shops at Princes Street and the trendy upmarket boutiques of George Street -a shopper's paradise. The Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, John Knox's House, Holyrood Palace and The Scottish Parliament are only a further few minutes away from Princes Street. For fans of theatre, Edinburgh Playhouse, with its wonderful productions throughout the year, is only a 5-minute walk from our guest house. The Royal Botanic Gardens and the Royal Yacht Britannia are a short bus journey from us. Ask us how to get to these places when you stay with us.
